Effective Date: June 22, 2026 Last Updated: June 22, 2026
Side Dish with Schniper and Dishcount Developers (“we,” “our,” or “us”) are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application Side Dishcounts (the “App”), including its social feed (“Dishcos”), business listings, deals and offers, and business admin portal. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.
By using Side Dishcounts, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Personal Information You Provide (Consumer Accounts)
- Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Authentication Data: Information from Apple Sign-In (name, email, and Apple ID, or Apple’s private email relay)
- Profile Information: Food and drink preferences, and other preferences you choose to set
- User Content: Photos, captions, comments, and other content you post to the Dishcos social feed, including any location tag you choose to attach to a post
1.2 Personal Information You Provide (Business Accounts)
If you register a business account to claim or manage a listing through the admin portal, we additionally collect:
- Business Contact Information: Your name, email, phone number, and role at the business
- Business Details: Business name, address, category, hours, menu/offer details, and any photos or descriptions you upload
- Listing Activity: Offers and deals you create, edit, or publish through the admin portal
We do not currently collect payment or billing information through the admin portal. If we introduce paid business subscriptions or promoted listings in the future, billing will be handled by a third-party payment processor (such as Stripe), and we will update this Policy accordingly before that feature launches. We do not store full payment card numbers ourselves.
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Location Data: Your device’s location, used to show nearby businesses, offers, and deals, and to power the map/explore view
- Camera Access: Used for QR code scanning to redeem offers (we do not access or store your camera roll for this purpose)
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including offers viewed and redeemed, posts viewed or created, and businesses visited within the app
- Analytics Data: App performance, crash reports, and usage statistics, collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics

2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service: Show relevant nearby offers, deals, and businesses based on your location and preferences
- Power the Social Feed: Display Dishcos posts to other users and allow interaction (likes, comments) with content you and others post
- Personalization: Customize what’s shown to you based on your stated food/drink preferences and usage
- Account Management: Create, maintain, and secure your consumer or business account

3. Public Nature of the Dishcos Feed
Content you post to the Dishcos feed (photos, captions, comments) is public by default and visible to other users of the app. Please do not post information in a Dishcos post or comment that you do not want to be publicly visible. Deleting a post removes it from the feed, but copies may persist for a limited time in backups or as shown to users who previously viewed it.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party services (such as Firebase/Google and Apple) that help us operate the app
- Other Users: Your Dishcos posts, comments, and public profile information are visible to other users, as described in Section 3
- Business Partners: Limited, non-personal information necessary for offer redemption (businesses do not receive your name, email, or precise location through redemption alone, unless you choose to share it, e.g., by posting under your account)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or others
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
